Laser Engraving vs. Deep Etching Choosing the Right Finish for Your Bottle

Not every bottle should be personalized the same way. Depending on the glass, artwork, and desired appearance, we may recommend precision laser engraving or premium deep etching.

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving creates a permanent frosted mark directly on the glass surface and is an excellent choice for detailed logos, names, dates, and production runs requiring consistency and precision. For round and cylindrical bottles, we use a precision rotary attachment that rotates the bottle during engraving, allowing artwork to be applied accurately around the surface. Rotary laser engraving provides exceptional consistency for wine bottle engraving, whiskey bottle engraving, bourbon bottle engraving, champagne bottle engraving, and other custom engraved glass bottles.

Premium Deep Etching

Deep etching uses an abrasive process to create a richer, more dimensional frosted finish with exceptional visual impact. It is often preferred for executive gifts, retirement presentations, premium spirits, commemorative bottles, and luxury recognition pieces.

Because we offer both methods in-house, our recommendation is always based on which process will produce the best result—not simply the easiest one.
