For a dragon-themed window-decorating contest in Renton, Foxwood created a coordinated collection of custom awards that felt playful, substantial and completely specific to the event.
The Project
The award collection needed to recognize several distinct accomplishments while maintaining one cohesive visual identity.
Rather than beginning with a standard trophy and changing its inscription, Foxwood developed original award designs around the event’s dragon theme. Each category received its own shape, artwork and visual personality while remaining clearly connected to the complete collection.
The finished awards included recognition for the overall theme, a community-selected winner and a grand-prize recipient.
Designed for the Occasion
The dragon artwork became the foundation of the design.
Rich reds, warm metallic tones, illustrative details and dimensional silhouettes gave the awards the theatrical character the event called for. Banners, typography and category-specific elements helped distinguish each honor without losing the shared theme.
Every component was considered as part of the complete presentation—from the outline of each award to the proportions of its base.
Built in Layers
The awards combined multiple materials and production techniques to create depth.
Layered components allowed artwork and lettering to sit at different visual levels instead of appearing on one flat surface. Full-color UV printing preserved the detailed illustrations and tonal variation, while engraved and dimensional elements added texture and permanence.
Clear bases provided stability without competing with the sculptural award designs above them.
One Collection, Distinct Awards
A coordinated award program does not require every piece to look identical.
For this project, recurring colors, typography and design details connected the collection. Individual shapes and central artwork then gave each award its own identity.
This approach made every category feel important while ensuring the awards looked intentional when displayed together.
The Result
The finished pieces became more than markers of first, second or third place. They captured the spirit of the event and gave each recipient something created specifically for the celebration.
